"West Kowloon's Marketing team is promoting its coming and future with the profound use of Virtual Reality."
"Main Hall and Found Space"
In today’s marketing, many companies find that e-devices are popular for promotion and easier to pitch ideas to the public. West Kowloon’s Marketing Team has also noticed this prevalent phenomenon and decided to promote its coming and future events with Virtual Reality (VR) and touchscreen devices.
Hence, I have a chance to write user guidelines for Samsung Gear VR and touchscreen devices in a HR recruitment booth this July. Not only will the public enjoy VR, West Kowloon’s HR colleagues love the VR glass as well. To know why VR can have such a popularity in our workplace, please don’t hesitate and let’s explore the future M+ building with our new 360° rendering below.
It was not a simple task since I needed to complete it within a few days. In the process of writing guidelines for Samsung Gear VR, I found the first two steps were the most difficult to be written since I was not very familiar with the English names of the device details such as audio prompt.
Also, I needed to describe the way to set up the Samsung Gear VR in details with a precise sentence. In the process of describing each step meticulously, I needed to search how to screen capture every screen scene, for instance, the homepage and the 360 photo views.
I have learnt how to illustrate the basic control of a device and charging method in an easy-to-understand way.
Most delightedly, in this experience, I am happy to view the future M+ interior environment which includes the main hall, found space and the galleries from 360 degrees.
Another task was to prepare a precise manual for the Samsung touchscreen device. This touchscreen device can be also found in City Gallery for West Kowloon Promotion.
In this task, I needed to guide the users to reach the WKCDA Kiosk app to browse the three sections (Events & Programme, Buildings and District) and use the top menu plus submenu to let the audience know the current development of West Kowloon.
Overall, the whole experience has strengthened my skills of descriptive area. With better understanding of the e-devices, it would help me better organise and promote future events with advanced digital elements.
