Summer Intern - Project Control
"Walking around in the Free space construction site"
It has been a month working as an intern in the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. I am under the project control department which is basically responsible for the construction of the whole district. It’s such a great chance to have a taste of what it is like to be working in a construction industry and get some inspiration for my future career path.

Stepping out of your comfort zone and working in a new environment is always a challenge but it’s great to meet all the interesting people here and make new friends from different universities and majors. It was really impressed that all the executive members of WKCDA joined the orientation to give all of us a warm welcome.

Pipe work of the cooling system
During the first month of internship, I am lucky to have the opportunity to have a site inspection on Free space with my supervisor. We walked around the outdoor area of the construction site and get a basic geographical concept of the whole area design. And then we entered one of the building inside Free space area and inspected the pipe work of the cooling system there which helped me better visualise the technical layout drawing.
After these 30 days in WKCDA, I truly believe the upcoming months will be fruitful and challenging.
