One of the most fascinating parts of WKCDA internship programme is having lots of activities to join. It is not merely an experience in work but also in art and culture. Through these activities, we the interns have a better understanding of the authority.
M+ Rover visit
Summer intern were gathered to visit the M+ Rover located at Tsuen Wan Park. Playing the board game created by Hong Kong Comic Writer Rainbow Leung provided us with a platform getting to know each other better. From the sharing by M+ staff, I was really amazed by the design and the utilization of space of the M+ Rover. The rover can accommodate not only a storage area but also three air conditioners within such small space. Besides, I very appreciate that many people are working for art and their dream out there with tons of effort and passion, even though the process is relatively challenging as they had only got a very short space of time to finish it.
Site Visit & safety training
Apart from the M+ Rover, we have also visited the site at West Kowloon to get a rough idea of the progress of the project construction. The visit of Canton Express Exhibition in M+ Pavilion brought us a meaningful experience in appreciating arts. We knew few artists from Mainland China and learned to find the hidden message of those art works exhibited. It was like reading a contemporary Chinese history when the staff was sharing the story behind each art work. Before I work at WKCDA, I did not have much understanding and knowledge of the art projects in Hong Kong. These activities excited my interest and curiosity to have further understanding of art project development. This is, indeed, a great opportunity for us to gain experience in different aspects.
